On February 5th 2025, we started our cruise trip in the Mediterranean. This was the most thrilling experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. And hopefully, I’ll treasure others to come! The amount of memories I’ve made are indescribable- it was indeed a life-changing
experience. We left for this trip with a few teachers that had to keep an eye on us. Regardless, we enjoyed it very much. Our teacher fortunately, wasn’t too strict, she was on the opposite, even-tempered. Therefore, we even enjoyed spending time with her. I had the amazing opportunity to meet a businessman from Armenia* in the Jacuzzi. At the beginning, we talked about this and that, until we started discussing the current political and economic state of the world. Those talks were profoundly fulfilling. After talking to him with my friends, I always left uplifted. I really enjoy having these types of deep talks. He was indeed surprised at how freely he could talk about sensitive topics with such young girls like us. I appreciate this trip for various reasons. The first would definitely be getting the chance to be more extroverted and bond more with my best friends, my two estimated deskmates. I gotta say, in the past few years I struggled a lot with Socialization, and human interactions in general, so for me this trip would have meant to be able to break free from certain behaviours I used to have.
The thing I like the most about running away from my comfort zone is finally being able to feel free, I’m free to express myself however I want, moreover, nobody can target me like the people from my little town do. So that’s really freeing. In the cruise I could have been whoever I wanted to, impersonating roles… It’s a struggle trying to find who the real you is and getting in terms with it. Masking my insecurities and my traumas in front of strangers there, really felt like a TV series and I was one of the most complex characters. Who didn’t develop a personality by herself, but takes it from others. It’s interestingly complex to study for sure. By masking, thus,I chatted with many people from all around the world. Other than the physiological reasons behind this trip, another important aspect to consider is for sure my passion for traveling; one of the main reasons why I accepted to go- plus I’ve never been on a cruise trip before. Our first stop was “La Goulette” a beautiful city in Tunisia, rich in history, you could really see it through all the walls and buildings there. I was to say the least, electrified to go to a North African country, it had always been my dream to go there someday, and finally my school gave me the opportunity to. I was beyond happy about the departure and visit of that city. I loved the people there and their mentality, very similar to mine. After that we went to Barcelona and then Marseille. Between the two, Marseille is the one I loved the most, although I enjoyed the museums and attractions in Barcelona,
Marseille really touched my heart deeply. There too I felt at home, same as in Tunisia. Those
cities still hold my heart. The outcome of my trip thus? Extremely positive, to say the
least.
